Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) involves the use of various manual techniques to diagnose and treat joint pain/dysfunction. This treatment is quite broad and involves gentle stretching, positional release, and activation. Some of the techniques are subtle, and others may result in audible popping noises and resemble more familiar chiropractic treatments.
Numerous forms of treatment fall in this category and are geared towards the joints, lymphatic system, and soft tissue in the body. The treatments are carefully performed to help increase range of motion and promote a sense of ease and balance. OMT is ideally suited for all ages and is even useful during pregnancy and is often used seamlessly with the other modalities of treatment listed here.
